Drake and Chris Brown fight started over taunt
OHMYGOSSIP — Drake allegedly started his infamous club brawl with Chris Brown last June by sending him a note claiming he was “f**king the love of your life” Rihanna.
Drake allegedly told Chris Brown “I’m f**king the love of your life” before their fight. The ‘Started from the Bottom’ rapper reportedly started the infamous brawl at New York City’s W.i.P. club last June by sending the salacious note to the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ hitmaker’s table in reference to pop star Rihanna, according to a lawsuit filed by Chris’ bodyguard.
Patrick ‘Big Pat’ Strickland – who was rushed to hospital with a bloody head wound following the fight – is suing Drake, 26, and the Soho hotspot, and alleges that Drake’s inflammatory message led to a “verbal altercation” that soon turned violent.
The lawsuit claims Drake is responsible for a “massive bar brawl that involved bottle throwing, possible gunshots and a general state of riot and disorder.”
During the incident, the 43-year-old bodyguard was hit in the head by a bottle, which led to “severe and disfiguring injuries to his face, head and eyes”, the legal filing continues.
Patrick is also holding the New York City club accountable for creating a volatile situation by seating Drake and Chris, 23, near each other despite having knowledge of their long-standing public feud.
The suit claims W.i.P. created “a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps.”
Patrick is seeking an unspecified amount of damages in the case, which also names W.i.P.’s sister club Greenhouse as a defendant.
