Queen Elizabeth’s art talents revealed in TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — A new TV show is to reveal the artistic talents of several royals including Queen Elizabeth and the late Queen Victoria.

A new TV programme is to show some of Queen Elizabeth’s artistic talents. ‘The Royal Paintbox’ – which will be broadcast on ITV on April 16 – will feature artwork by the 86-year-old monarch, including a lino cut of a circus horse she created when she was just eight or nine years old, according to Prince Charles.

As well as Elizabeth’s talents, the documentary will focus on Queen Victoria’s penchant for painting.

The royal turned to painting landscapes for comfort her after her husband Albert died in 1861, but while he was alive she tended to paint people rather than settings.

The show sees Charles talk about how his mother has always encouraged him to paint and even Victoria once told him to “look and observe” when he was younger.

Charles is becoming something of a prominent figure on TV programmes of late after he recently guest edited a special edition of BBC One weekly rural affairs show ‘Countryfile’, on which he spoke of his passion for walking in the country, comparing it to the need a smoker has for cigarettes.

What’s more, Prince William – who works as an RAF search and rescue pilot – is to be featured in a new TV documentary series, ‘Helicopter Rescue’.

The show has been given exclusive access to crews at the prince’s RAF Valley base in Anglesey, as well as RMB Chivenor in Devon, and in one of the episodes, the royal is the Sea King helicopter’s captain as the crew is called to an old slate quarry.
