Evan Rachel Wood needs meditation

OHMYGOSSIP — Evan Rachel Wood says meditation helps her relax and stay calm.

Evan Rachel Wood began meditating when she was 12 years old. The 25-year-old actress – who is expecting her first child with husband Jamie Bell – finds the relaxation technique vital to give her a sense of calm about her hectic life and career and keep anxiety at bay.

She said: “I began meditating when I was 12. In my industry it’s easy to get caught up in the anxiety of it all, so I take time to sit and breathe by the ocean – there’s something so calming about that, it puts everything into perspective. I started doing yoga too, I totally get why everyone’s in love with it now. It’s pretty great.”

Evan also finds dancing a great way to relax and clear her head.

She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: “Dancing is the most fun workout. It’s another way for me to clear my head – I’m not thinking about anything else, just getting out some energy.

“If you’ve seen me dance I flip my head around, jump and stomp a lot. LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ is a great song to rock out to.”
