James Middleton plays plane seat prank
OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine’s brother, James Middleton, played a prank on his parents by buying them reclining plane seats to reference their British Airways past.
Duchess Catherine’s brother bought his parents a pair of reclining plane seats as a joke to their former careers at British Airways.
James Middleton purchased the seats off eBay for £100 to continue an on-going gag about Michael and Carole’s past profession, a flight dispatcher and air stewardess respectively.
The seats – which are refitted with castor wheels – were made by Boeing and feature seatbelts, tray tables and in-flight entertainment controls on the arm.
They were bought in May 2011 after the former Kate Middleton married future king Prince William.
According to the Sunday People, the chairs were described on internet auction site eBay as “really cool, funky seating”, ideal for “an office or waiting room”.
James – who performed a reading at his sister’s wedding in April 2011 – has made several purchases on the site, but one customer wasn’t impressed after buying a £20 hand-me-down CD player after it was “faulty and had previously been tampered with.”
He has since set up his own business, running a mail order cake company which has recently expanded into selling wine.
