Katie Holmes wants Suri to stick with school
OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Holmes is keen for daughter Suri to stay grounded and focus on her education rather than going into modelling early on in her life.
Katie Holmes wants Suri to focus on education.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress is reportedly keen for her six-year-old daughter – from her relationship with ex-husband Tom Cruise – to remain grounded despite early calls for her to star in commercials.
An insider told RadarOnline.com: “Suri may be one of the most photographed children on the planet but she won’t be doing her own photo shoots for fashion houses just yet.
“Katie wants her to concentrate on school before anything else … She just wants Suri to have as normal a childhood as possible.
“[She] is trying to keep her grounded and forget the celebrity lifestyle that she’s become accustomed to.”
They suggested education was something “drilled into” the 34-year-old mother growing up and she would like her child to avoid the world of show business.
The source added: “[School was] something her parents drilled into her when she was young.
“They pushed Katie through Notre Dame Academy and Katie will be equally as hands-on with Suri … In an ideal world, Katie doesn’t want Suri to follow in her footsteps into showbiz.
“She would prefer her daughter worked in law, like her father. Whatever she chooses to do when she’s older, Katie will support her. If she wants to model then, that’s fine. But first, school is the priority.”
