Katie Holmes loves being single

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Holmes is loving the single life. The actress — who divorced husband Tom Cruise last year after the pair were married for six years — is embracing her independence to the full and plans to spend Valentine’s Day spoiling daughter Suri.

Katie, 34, stopped by the Godiva Rockefeller Center Boutique in New York recently, where she gushed about her Valentine’s Day plans.

“Katie was so sweet and just so happy,” a source said. “She came in with her mother and her Aunt was just so excited to be together for a girls’ weekend.

“Katie kept talking about how her sister and niece were coming to town that day to spend the weekend all together. She was walking through, nibbling on every piece of chocolate, taking tiny bites and then sharing the rest with her mom. Katie said that this year she would be spending Valentine’s Day with [her daughter] Suri, keeping alive the tradition of making red pancakes.”

Recent reports claimed Katie wants to appear on Dancing with the Stars.

“Katie and Suri are huge fans of Dancing and watch it every week,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“They’ve really bonded as mother and daughter over the show and dance in general. Suri has been prodding her mom to join the series. Katie figures if she doesn’t manage to land a spot on the upcoming season, she’ll try for the next.

“After going through her stressful divorce, competing on the show would be like therapy for her and it will keep Suri entertained at the same time. She feels that a stint on ‘Dancing’ would charm the public and kick-start her showbiz career.

“Katie is confident she has what it takes to win the Mirror Ball trophy.”
