What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?
I am really glad that this year’s chosen theme was sustainable energy, because I worked all year with different related projects in Slovenia. With sustainable energy we can really do something for our nature that nature can do something for us. Even if we are a small country we have a lot of benefits, that we can use for sustainable energy. We have Kras where there is a lot of wind and have some pinwheels at the same time. We have also a lot of sun around the country so lately solar panels on the roofs are very popular with houses. I am doing a project to present a little bit more about the solar panels to our elder people, because in Slovenia we have a lot of houses that could accommodate the solar panels on the roof. A lot of them do not know that EU gives grands to put solar panels at your home which allows you to sell electricity to your own country. If we would have more of those houses, more of pinwheels, we would not cause much destruction to our lands.

What makes you proud of your country and what can you promote about it?
My country has a lot of mountains, seaside, forest and beautiful cities that made me proud and glad to be in Slovenia. Lately a lot of things go in the direction towards doing a lot for our land. In our country we separate waste, not just at our households but also in the middle of the cities, we build a lot of energy saving houses with solar panels, we are produce a lot of ecological food and we care for the forest and clean the water.

Describe your childhood/growing years:
I am proud to grow up in a family with a lot of children. It was always fun even despite being the tallest one. After school I always played with them at home or outside. We had a lot of good times and we were together all the time so we didnt need many friends. At weekends we traveled a lot to different countries with my parents. We saw a lot of beautiful places, although a lot of kids didn’t like that, because in our country it is not so popular to travel a lot and far. I think that because of the traveling all these years I would also love to travel now, alone or with my family or friends. Aside from traveling I attended a lot of different sports after school, including ballet, tennis, basketball, couple dance, etc. I will always remember these years because after that, I became a grown girl who didn’t play with toys anymore but I started to do a lot of new things that was more important in my life.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I had a lot of lessons over the years. The first ones were discipline, order, share since I am from big family and always had to share everything with my sisters. I was the oldest one so I was responsible if anything went wrong wherever we were or whatever we do. I also learned when my father died that life became unpredictable. I became a strong responsible woman who can carry herself, can help others and help my sisters. I saw my studies alone didn’t help my family so I also started to work, and I am glad for that because I am now in a chocolate shop managing all 4 shops.

What is your most memorable moment?
There are a lot of those moments but the most memorable are the ones when we were all together at the seaside over a month and had a lot of good times.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose it?
I also want to promote ecological food in our country just as we did in our chocolate shop – an Eco chocolate and spread.

What tip can you share to promote sustainable energy for all?
I think we could do more free advertising related to the environment. I would ask TV to give some free advertising placements, go to different schools and talk with young population and tell them how can save our land.
