Mandy Moore hated her body
OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore used to have body issues. The actress admits she used to be uncomfortable in her skin. “Growing up I’m 5’10 and I sort of went through that awkward stage as a kid and was incredibly uncomfortable in my skin and felt very awkward about my height,” she said.
“My mum who is 5’2 would always impress upon me how I should stand tall with my shoulders back and be proud of my height. It was something she really envied but I guess it was a reminder of the grass is always greener. I felt very lucky to have that kind of role model in my life at an early age.”
Moore has previously insisted she doesn’t worry too much about what she eats.
“I’m not obsessive about [dieting],” she said.
“If I want to have a burger and fries like I did [the other] night in the park, then I’m going to do that because that’s okay. [There have been times] when my weight is the first thing on my mind all the time. I’m so affected and driven by that diet and what I’m eating and how much I’m exercising.”
“I’ve just realized in time that if it’s a constant thread in the background of my life, that’s when I’m the happiest and that’s when I feel the best about myself.”
