Designer Judianna Makovsky brings The Hunger Games to life with costumes
OHMYGOSSIP — Fashion designer Judianna Makovsky brings Panem — the world that holds an annual competition known as The Hunger Games – to life with her unforgettable costumes.
Makovsky is no stranger to the realms of Hollywood, having designed costumes for some of the world’s most popular films, including the Harry Potter movies and Seabiscuit, both of which earned her Oscar nominations. So,with thirty years of experience and what seems to be a never-ending supply of creative juices, she’s sort of a big deal . . . and Director Gary Ross is extremely lucky to have her designing the costumes for his much-anticipated film.
Fans have already gotten a glimpse of the many styles of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), including their futuristic training uniforms, as well as the sparkling/glittering costumes of the mesmerizing Effie Trinket.
Tens, if not hundreds of fashion bloggers have now become curious and seem to be simultaneously claiming that “The Hunger Games” costume designer Judianna Makovsky seems to have been inspired by Ohmygossip Couture. Some even assert that part of her creation has directly been influenced by Ohmygossip Couture photoshoots.
“We are lately heading toward this eclectic, spirited and scandalous style — the recent set of photoshoots are not next to modest, I must admit. I personally would not speculate about Judianna having traces of our work in her creation, yet it is nice to have this kind of feedback from Ohmygossip Couture fans and it is pleasant to see as a brand developer and also partly as a fashion designer that I employ conceptions and patterns of thought akin to the film costume designer currently among the world’s best known,” says the Ohmygossip Couture brand developer Helena-Reet Ennet to Gossip.ee.
