Sinead O’Connor hospitalized for depression
Troubled Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has been hospitalized for depression, telling fans she will be “off the radar” for several weeks while she is treated. The Nothing Compares 2 U hitmaker spiralled into a meltdown on Twitter.com earlier this month, revealing she had taken an overdose of pills and pleading for help from a psychiatrist.
O’Connor also claimed she’d attempted suicide twice during her short-lived marriage to Barry Herridge, who she split from just weeks after their nuptials.
Now the star has taken to the internet again to reveal she is seeking professional help to treat her depression.
She writes, “Gonna be off (the) radar for (a) few weeks. But will be back. Worry not. I’m going to hospital. Treatment for depression. Not at all well. But they will put me back together quick… so (I) will be back… and smiling. Prolly (probably) 2 weeks ish.
“I (will) be grand in (a) few weeks. (It) was (the) right decision to call hospital. They (are) fab. Good team. I (will) be me again in 2 weeks they say.”
And O’Connor has reassured her fans there is nothing to worry about, adding, “Dont want anyone worrying. Should only worry if a depressed person DOESNT go hospital. all will be well. Just (need a) little time.”
