Kelvin Fletcher tops Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard during semi-final

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelvin Fletcher topped the leaderboard during the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ semi-final on Saturday night (07.12.19).
The ‘Emmerdale’ star and his professional dance partner Oti Mabuse scored a perfect 40 for their quickstep to ‘The Lady Is A Tramp’, whilst also achieving a nearly perfect 37 for their powerful Paso Doble.
Bruno Tonioli dubbed the dance as a “sparkling delight” and praised the “light footwork, precision and incredible musicality” whilst Craig Revel Horwood joked he was disappointed because he couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Motsi Mabuse said the couple could easily have played the dance safe but instead opted for a “complex” routine.
And when it came to their Paso to ‘Seven Nation Army’, Kelvin and Oti impressed all four judges with Motsi saying she had a lot of “respect” for the duo following their performance whilst Shirley Ballas praised the “impressive moments” but admits there were some “bits off balance”.
Meanwhile, Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden ensured they were given second place on the leaderboard with a score of 36 for for their Argentine Tango to Libertango and 38 for their American Smooth to ‘Sweet Caroline’.
Motsi praised their American Smooth for it being “technically excellent” whilst Bruno said it was “perfectly pitched storytelling”.
Elsewhere, Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke did a Cha Cha Cha to ‘Hold My Hand’ by Jess Glynne whilst also impressing with their Waltz to Gymnopédie No.1., earning them scores of 31 and 36 respectively.
Comedian Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer found themselves bottom of the leaderboard with scores of 26 and 28, giving them a total of 54.
However, all is not lost for Chris and Karen as they could still make it into the semi-final as the judges’ scores will be added to the public votes to find out who will make it into the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final next weekend.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Sunday (08.12.19).
