Kim Kardashian‘s husband Kris Humphries lost his $10,000 wedding ring last week. The basketball star — who tied the knot with the 30-year-old socialite in a lavish Californian ceremony this August — was thrown into a panic at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, in Minnesota, on Friday when he realized he had misplaced the band.
According to TMZ, the drama began when Kris, who was accompanied by two friends, had to remove the Lorraine Schwartz-designed ring to go through a metal detector and accidentally dropped the piece of jewellery on the floor as he tried to put it back on his finger.
However, onlooker Omar Ahmad — who recognized the star as “Kim’s husband” — came to the rescue by frantically scrabbling around on his hands and knees to find the ring with Kris.
“He was freaking out and frantically looking for it yelling, ‘Where’s my ring?!’” Omar told RadarOnline.
“He was crawling on his knees looking for it underneath the X-ray machine. No one was helping him so I stepped in to help. I told him, ‘I’m going to help you find this so you don’t have to deal with this tonight.’ ”
After 10 minutes on their knees searching for the ring, Omar found it before security took it from him and gave it to a relieved Kris.
“Kris was just so thankful I helped him and didn’t just leave him,” he said.
