Ross Kemp teases a soap return for EastEnders and Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Kemp won’t “rule out” an ‘Emmerdale’ return.
The 55-year-old actor is best known for playing Grant Mitchell is rival soap ‘EastEnders’, but back in 1986 he started a run of 22 episodes as Graham Lodsworth in the ITV show when it was still called ‘Emmerdale Farm’.
Asked about his soaps future, he told Metro.co.uk: “I would never ever rule out ‘EastEnders’ – nor would I rule out a return to ‘Emmerdale Farm’.
“I don’t think you can ever rule out anything in life to be honest with you, having been around the world and seeing how incredibly short some people’s lives are.
“I think while you’re on the planet, you should enjoy as much as you can, as long as you’re not harming other people while doing so.”
Although Ross has become more focused on his work as a gritty documentary filmmaker over the years, he admitted he does “enjoy” getting the chance to act again when the opportunity presents itself.
He said: “I would never rule that out, I enjoy doing it and I trained three years to become one a long time ago. It’s not so bad when you’re working [on a TV show], it’s just not very good when you’re not.”
The soap star previously revealed how he marked his first appearances in both ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘EastEnders’ with two very special purchases.
He said: “When I was 20. When I got a job on ‘Emmerdale’, I bought my first car, and when I got a job on ‘EastEnders’, I bought my first house. You can live in a car, but there is more room in a house and the sanitary conditions are better! That first car was a midnight blue Capri.”
The car caused some problems because the insurance company wouldn’t insure actors, but Ross noticed a definite improvement in his chances with the ladies.
He added: “I waited in the service station, and eventually my mum managed to get me insurance. I was three hours late getting to the Railway Hotel in Leeds. But as soon as I parked the car there, girls started saying hello to me. See, I was making up for all those years without a car!”
