Sarah Michelle Gellar: My family comes first
Sarah Michelle Gellar has said that she puts her family above her career. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer veteran revealed that it was key for her to serve as a producer on her new CW series Ringer so as to have as much control over production as possible.
“My family comes first, and you have to be in charge to be able to protect that,” Gellar told the Los Angeles Times. “You have to be the one who says no or you don’t have a life, which is what I found out the first time.”
The actress went on to say that she hopes to set an example for her daughter Charlotte.
“I don’t want to feel like a failure to my daughter,” Gellar said. “She’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Buffy – pretty great and all, but Charlotte’s way better.”
Finally, Gellar promised that Ringer will deliver, insisting that the series will not go the way of the ABC drama Lost.
“I loved Lost, but I felt it just got deeper and deeper and we never get anything out of it,” Gellar said.
She continued: “[Series creators] Nicole [Snyder] and Eric [Charmelo] pitched me the first three seasons all the way through. Some things have already changed, but the big questions we have answers to, and we give them out a little bit every episode.”
In late August, Gellar admitted that being a working mother can be difficult, saying that she has a particular admiration for any working parent.
The actress recently claimed that she is still proud of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and insisted that she has no regrets about starring on the supernatural series
