Elle Macpherson embraced being unique being a model

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Macpherson “embraced her own uniqueness” when she began modelling.
The 55-year-old Australian beauty was still a teenager when she flew to New York to start her long-running fashion career in the 1980’s, and the star has revealed she “realised early on” she was never going to be a “waif-thin” supermodel because of her curvaceous frame and “broad shoulders” from her love of swimming.
She said: “Roots are important. They shape your values. I’ve travelled a lot, but I still consider myself to be profoundly Australian.
“I’d never even taken an aeroplane before. I had a few hundred dollars in my pocket, no return ticket and a sort of naivety. I realised early on that I was never going to have the waif-thin fashion body. I was six-foot tall, 36 hips, 36 bust and broad shoulders from swimming all my life. I just needed to embrace my uniqueness.”
Elle has also opened up on how she keeps her figure looking in such incredible shape she is worthy of keeping her nickname ‘The Body’.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, she shared: “I’m a morning person, I love the morning light, I like sunrises and I like that quiet time in the morning before everyone is up. Often I’ll start the day with a fresh celery juice. And then I move on to make a green smoothie. It’s all about the greens, so I love greens, any kind of greens.”
The striking blonde – who has two sons Cy, 16 and Flynn, 21 with her ex-partner Arpad Busson – always wants to be “real and honest”, and fight against “polished perfection” on social media.
She added: “I hope I didn’t come across as too earnest. I do think we need to fight against that, to try to be real and honest, you know? More than ever, because there’s so much pressure from Instagram and a sort of expectation of polished perfection. I’m more interested in the realness of life and the beauty of imperfection, aren’t you? It’s the not-perfect stuff that touches my heart.”
