Lady GaGa was classed as an oddball at school
Lady GaGa insists she hasn’t always been lauded for her sense of style. The flamboyant and unpredictable Poker Face singer — who picked up a Fashion Icon award at the recent CFDAs — was classed as an oddball at school and often had a lack of friends because of the way she used to dress.
“I had some friends in high school, but I was always the butt of the joke,” says GaGa.
“I was really passionate about music, fashion and the arts and I just really stood out in that way, especially going to an all girls’ school in New York. You can imagine what the uniforms were like so there was very little way to express your identity. When I did I was frowned upon.”
GaGa recently admitted she is often the subject of her friends’ jokes because she rarely takes her extravagant stage make-up off before going to bed.
“I’ve got to wash my face at some point,” she said.
“I do get laughed at quite a bit by all my friends because they say I go to sleep a lot with my make-up on. But I say that I have to be ready for the men in my dreams!”
