Adele: Success makes me feel emotional
Adele has confessed that she feels “emotional” when thinking about her successful music career. In an interview with Q Magazine, the ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer revealed that while she is grateful for her achievements, she prefers to concentrate on her passion for singing rather than the notoriety she has achieved because of it.
“That stuff goes right over my head. I’m 22. So those things don’t really interest me! I just love singing, innit?” she said. “I mean, I’m really proud of making some people really proud in England. I’ve never seen my mum so happy. She’s like, ‘Oh well, this is just ridiculous now, surely not, f**k off Adele. It makes me… really emotional actually.”
She went on to admit that she feels it necessary not to think too much about her achievements in order to preserve her own sanity.
“It’s pretty overwhelming. It’s very extreme. I wasn’t ever expecting any success like this,” she said. “But if I listened to it all and Googled it all I’d have a bit of a heart attack, I reckon. ‘Cos really it’s the small things in life that satisfy me.”
