Eva Mendes wants to look frumpy

Eva Mendes insists she’s desperately trying to look frumpy on film. The Hitch beauty thinks she’s done a good job in looking less than a million dollars in new movie Last Night and wants to continue to move away from her sex symbol image.

“I don’t have any makeup in this movie,” says Eva. “When I do, it’s minimal makeup, not beauty makeup. I didn’t care about vanity. And there was no hair product in my hair. It wasn’t big and bouncy but very tame. I didn’t want to play sexy secretary. I don’t want to play that stereotype.”

Eva — who has been dating Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto for almost a decade — recently called marriage an “unnecessary” tradition.

“I just don’t think marriage is necessary, as necessary as society makes it,” she said.

“And I don’t have a negative point of view on it. I just think it’s a very old tradition and if you look back to what marriage symbolizes in the first place … it has nothing to do with why we get married today.”
