Sam Allardyce was ‘out of comfort zone’ on Celebrity Apprentice

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Allardyce was “way out of his comfort zone” on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’.
The 64-year-old former England manager admitted he was out of his depth when he featured on the BBC show – which was to raise money for Comic Relief – and struggled to handle his task, which required the groups to organise a cabaret event in a short space of time.
He said: “It was very tough indeed, way out of my comfort zone. Putting on a cabaret event is not my strongest asset. Food, tickets, alcohol, donations, advertising – we had to try to get everything for nothing.
“I got stuck into it as best I could but booking artists in 48 hours is not my forte. Yet we managed to get there in the end thanks to people’s contacts.”
The sports star also said he and his team – which included Omid Djalili, Russell Kane, Richard Arnold and Rylan Clark-Neal – “all got on OK” and did not really have time to argue on the challenge.
He added: “I didn’t know them personally but of course I knew of them. I’ve watched Omid Djalili many times on the telly, and also Russell Kane and Rylan Clark-Neal on ‘This Morning’. We all got on OK. We had our own opinions but we didn’t really have enough time to argue. We just go on with it.”
The rival female team consisted of Ayda Field, Amanda Holden, Kelly Hoppen, Tameka Empson and Rachel Johnson this year.
And even though he found the challenges difficult, Sam loved appearing on the special as he is a huge fan of Comic Relief.
He shared to the Metro newspaper: “We never miss the show. We’ve been watching it for years and always feel amazed by the generosity of this country. Even when our country’s in such a depressed state, people will still put their hands in their pockets and donate to those less fortunate than themselves.”
‘Celebrity Apprentice for Comic Relief’ airs on Thursday (07.03.19) on BBC One.
