Amy Winehouse’s dad launches jazz album
Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch has launched his first album, titled A Rush Of Love To The Heart. The 60-year-old cab driver presented the jazz LP yesterday at Pizza On The Park in London, Metro reports.
Mitch said: “Of course, I wouldn’t be in this position without Amy, but now the opportunity is there, why not take it?”
He added: “My father owned a barber shop in Commercial Street and my mother had a hairdressers at the back of it. We lived above this place with aunties, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents.
“Every floor had different music. We were singing all the time. Amy had a very similar upbringing – always aunties, uncles, grandparents and friends around… and always music.”
Earlier this year, Amy reportedly branded her father “embarrassing” for talking to the media about her problems rather than venting his emotions through songwriting.
