Hilary Duff engaged to NHL player Mike Comrie

Hilary Duff (22) is engaged to Edmonton Oilers forward Mike Comrie (29), confirms her publicist. The hockey player popped the question while the two were vacationing in Hawaii. The NHL is on a two-week break for the Olympics.

Duff and Comrie had been dating for just over two years. Comrie started their relationship right with a Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV for Duff as a 20th birthday gift, shortly after their started dating. “He’s a great guy,” she explained to “Us Weekly” last year. “I’ve never met anyone who could say a bad word about him.”

“He is generous, caring and funny – we just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life. He is unique… I wouldn’t want to be with someone who wasn’t unique.”

“We both have busy jobs’ and we’re both very focused people, so that helps. We have fun. We both live such different lives, but it’s always fun to support each other and spend time when we get to.”
