Israeli talent show ‘A Star is Born’ boosts its mobile app in bid to rebrand series

Show to be renamed ‘The Next Star’ with singers Rita and Eyal Golan joining the panel of judges; public will now have the majority vote thanks to new mobile application.

The Israeli version of “American Idol” will receive an extreme makeover for its next series, it was announced Monday. Music talent show “A Star is Born” will be renamed “The Next Star” and be a far more interactive experience for viewers thanks to a new mobile application, said Channel 2 franchisee Keshet Broadcasting.
