Steven Seagal denies killing puppy
Steven Seagal has denied accusations that he killed a puppy during a police raid on a cockfighting ring. The Under Siege star is facing a lawsuit from Jesus Llovera after the 59-year-old allegedly shot the 11-month-old puppy during a March raid on Llovera’s property.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio spoke out in the actor’s favour, questioning the lack of evidence, the AP reports.
“If my deputies, or posse man Seagal for that matter, had done something so awful like shooting a family dog, then where are the photos to prove it?” Arpaio said.
Meanwhile, Llovera’s lawyer Robert Campos said that Llovera had never accused Seagal of killing the puppy, claiming that his client is simply seeking an apology from the actor.
“My client never accused Seagal of having anything to do with the death of his puppy,” Campos said. “He just wanted an apology from Seagal for his role in the destruction of my client’s home, property and animals.”
