Prometheus role for Hollywood beauty Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron is being lined up to star in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. The South African-born actress is in final talks with 20th Century Fox and will likely take on a lead role in the film, which is slated for release in 2012.

Prometheus is a science-fiction film in the vein of the Alien trilogy. Scott originally wanted to make the film a prequel to the 1979 Alien film, but eventually turned it into another project.

The film will also star Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender.

Recent reports claimed Theron — who split from longtime love Stuart Townsend last year — has been getting cozy with Sean Penn.

Theron and Penn were seen hugging and kissing during a late night party at the Chateau Marmont garden in Hollywood.

“Sean and Charlize have been good friends for years. But now that neither is in a relationship, their friendship has blossomed into full-blown romance,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“They aren’t ready to go totally public yet, but are spending lots of private time together!”
