Corrie’s Catherine Tyldesley gets emotional on last day

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley thought she was “stable” until she was overcome with emotion while filming her final scenes for the soap today (20.06.18).
The 34-year-old actress – who joined the long-running show as barmaid Eva Price back in 2011 – has shot her final scenes for the ITV programme and took to social media to share her sadness at saying goodbye to her fellow casts members.
Catherine posted a shot of herself with Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor, who play her on-screen sisters Leanne and Toyah Battersby, and wrote: “I thought I was emotionally stable till I saw this pic of me and my sisters at lunch today… Two of the most talented, funny, kind hearted women I’ve ever met. Love you both so much xxxxx #location (sic)”
She also shared a photograph of herself messing about with a security guard on set and captioned it: “Security Dave: Cath … you’ll ALWAYS be ‘under the wing’ (sic)”
Although walking away from the show has been tough, Catherine recently admitted that she’s been inspired to try out for some hard-hitting parts as her next career step after former ‘Corrie’ boss Kate Oates gave her some tear-jerking storylines.
She said: “I adore doing comedy and Eva has had that side to her.
“Kate Oates has really fuelled my desire to do some gritty drama as well. We’ll see what happens. I feel really excited.”
Catherine’s character Eva has been in floods of tears on numerous occasions in recent months after her ex Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) took his own life and she gave birth before giving her daughter away to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).
Earlier this week, Shayne returned to the cobbles to surprise Catherine in her last week of filming.
She wrote on Instagram: “Best surprise ever! This spoon turns up to surprise me! Missed you spud!”
