Boy George and Culture Club announce UK tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Boy George and Culture Club have announced a UK arena tour.
The 80s pop legend and his ‘Do You Really Want to Hurt’ me bandmates – Roy Hay, Mikey Craig and Jon Moss – will kick off their 11-date run at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on November 9, including a stop at London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley on November 14, before concluding at Leeds’ First Direct Arena on November 23.
They’ll be joined by fellow 80s stars Belinda Carlisle and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey on what they’ve dubbed ‘The Life Tour: starring Boy George & Culture Club’.
George said: “We put together an amazing show that is going to be filled with hits and fabulous memories, we know it will be hands down this summer’s best night out.”
The musician recently announced he’s signing with Sony BMG – home to the likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears and Celine Dion – and promised fans he’s working on new music.
He said: “I’m about to sign with BMG which is the most bonkers thing. I never thought I’d sign a deal again, I haven’t had one since 1995. When this was presented to me I thought it’s bonkers I have to do it.”
The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker was previously signed to Virgin Records in 1995, when he released solo record ‘Cheapness and Beauty’, which only made it to number 44 in the charts.
And on his new music, he said: “I am about to make my own record and then I also have a Culture Club record in the pipeline, which we have kind of half written and half recorded.
“We have this strange kind of alchemy when we are together. “It’s a funny thing about bands.”
The iconic 80s pop band, lead by the flamboyant frontman , have racked up seven straight top 10 hits in the UK and nine top 10 singles in the US. The band also won multiple awards, including the 1984 Brit Award for Best British Group.
Tickets are on sale now.
