Dave James in talks for Strictly?

OHMYGOSSIP — Former England Goalkeeper David James is reportedly in talks for
‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Bosses at the BBC are said to be keen to have the 47-year-old sporting coach on the ballroom and latin contest as it wold tie in nicely with it being the World Cup this year, and he’s said to be “interested” in trading the pitch for the dancefloor.
A show insider told The Sun newspaper: “The Strictly casting team are
really keen to sign up a former footballer this year.
“It’s been a while since we had a celebrity from the world of football
and, as 2018 is a World Cup year, a footballer makes perfect sense.
“David would be a fantastic signing for us, and he is interested.”
The only thing said to be holding David back is the fact he’s busy in
India, where he recently signed a three-year deal to coach players at
the Kerala Blasters club.
The insider added: “The question is whether or not he will be able to
balance training with his other commitments, as he is currently
coaching a team in India.
“Whether or not a deal can be done depends on if the club can spare
him for four months towards the end of the year.”
It comes after reports that Union J’s Josh Cuthbert is reportedly
being eyed for a place in the competition.
The 25-year-old singer found fame with boyband Union J on ‘The X
Factor’ in 2012, and he could well be set to appear on television
screens once again, as bosses are said to be lining him up for a spot
when it returns to screens later this year.
A source said: “Josh has caught the eyes of producers and they’re
seeing if he could take part. He could easily be a fan favourite. He’s
young, in good shape and can dance. He’d be a strong signing.”
Producers are no doubt hoping the hunk will emulate the success of
McFly drummer Harry Judd, who waltzed his way to victory in 2012.
