Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam’s wedding plans revealed

Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam’s wedding plans revealed

OHMYGOSSIP – Charlotte Casiraghi* and her fiancé Dimitri Rassam** are busy planning their wedding for this summer! They were supposed to tie the knot last year but decided to postpone their marriage until after the birth of their child, RoyalCentral.co.uk mediates.

Princess Caroline’s daughter will marry the French-Lebanese film producer this summer. The exact date hasn’t been revealed yet but close sources have confirmed to Paris Match that the wedding will take place this June. In a couple of months the pair will tie the knot at the Princely Palace of Monaco. This will be their civil wedding ceremony.

The granddaughter of the late Princess Grace of Monaco and her fiancé are also planning a religious ceremony. Their second wedding ceremony will take place a while after their civil ceremony and it is rumoured it will be held on the island of Pantelleria in the Strait of Sicily, Italy. Dimitri’s mother, French actress and model Carole Bouquet, runs her own winery there.

The love story of Charlotte and Dimitri began at a party at the end of 2016. The pair had known each other for a long time but both were involved with other people until then. They got engaged early 2018 and in October 2018 Charlotte and Dimitri welcomed a baby boy named Balthazar. The pair was also spotted at the annual Bal de la Rose in Monaco a couple of weeks ago.

Both Dimitri and Charlotte have children from previous relationships. From her relationship with comedian Gad Elmaleh, Charlotte has a son named Raphael (5). Dimitri has a daughter named Darya (7) with his ex-wife the Russian model Masha Novoselova.

This wedding will not be the only wedding to take place in Monaco. Charlotte’s cousin Louis Ducruet is also marrying his fiancée Marie Chevalier this summer.

* Charlotte Marie Pomeline Casiraghi (born 3 August 1986) is the second child of Caroline, Princess of Hanover, and Stefano Casiraghi, an Italian industrialist. She is eleventh in line to the throne of Monaco. Her maternal grandparents were Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and American actress Grace Kelly. She is named after her paternal great-grandmother, Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois. She was christened on 20 September 1986. Her godparents are Albina du Boisrouvray and Stefano Casiraghi’s brother-in-law, Massimo Bianchi.

Charlotte and her two brothers, Andrea and Pierre, were born in the Mediterranean Principality of Monaco, ruled by their maternal grandfather, Prince Rainier III. When she was four years old, her father was killed in a boating accident. After his death, Princess Caroline moved the family to the Midi village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in France, with the intention of minimising their exposure to the press.

One of her first acts of public life was to become a delegate from Monaco to the Club des Habits Rouges, which is similar to The Pony Club in the UK. At the same time, her grandfather Rainier III, Prince of Monaco designated her patron of the Public Safety Division in Monaco.

In January 1999, Charlotte gained a stepfather and two stepbrothers, (Prince Ernst of Hanover and Prince Christian of Hanover), when her mother married Ernst August, Prince of Hanover. Six months later, Casiraghi’s half-sister, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, was born at a clinic in Voecklabruck, Austria. Casiraghi is godmother to her sister. The family then moved to the Parisian suburb of Fontainebleau.

From 2001 through 2004, as a member of Marcel Rozier’s Team Marionnaud, Casiraghi participated in a number of Junior and Amateur class show jumping competitions. She was trained successively by both of Rozier’s sons, first Philippe and then Thierry Rozier.

From the ages of two to six, Casiraghi attended Les Dames de Saint Maur, which is part of the Catholic schools of François d’assisi Nicolas Barré in Monaco. At the age of six, she moved on to the École de la République (state school system) in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. From 2000 to 2004 she attended the Lycée François-Couperin, Fontainebleau.

She obtained an “excellent” (in French: très bien, the highest possible) mark on her baccalaureate exam in July 2004. After passing her bac, she enrolled in the hypokhâgne and khâgne course at the Lycée Fénelon, in St-Germain-des-Près, Paris, in the hope of entering the École normale supérieure (Paris).  She took the written entrance exam for ENS in June 2006, but failed to make the list of candidates eligible to proceed to the oral exam.

In 2007, Casiraghi earned a License of Philosophy (B.A.) from the University of Paris IV: Paris-Sorbonne; Casiraghi completed two internships, firstly with the publishing house of Robert Laffont in Paris, and then later from October 2007 with the Sunday magazine supplement of The Independent newspaper of London.

Casiraghi is a private citizen, but occasionally attends official functions in Monaco, such as a fundraising gala for AMADE Mondiale and Nelson Mandela’s foundation in September 2007. In 2006, she made her debut appearance at Monaco’s Rose Ball (in French: Bal de la Rose), which also raises money for the Princess Grace Foundation. Since childhood, she and her brothers have made regular appearances with their family on occasions such as the Monaco National Day and the Monaco Grand Prix.

At the age of 16, Casiraghi was named number ten on a list of the world’s most eligible young women. Vanity Fair, selected Casiraghi as one of the International Best Dressed List of 2006.

Casiraghi is often photographed at fashion shows, art exhibits, and equestrian events.

Casiraghi appeared on the cover of Vogue Paris in September 2011.

In December 2011, Casiraghi started dating stand-up comedian and actor Gad Elmaleh. Their son, Raphaël, was born in December 2013. As Raphaël’s parents were not married, he is not included in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne. The couple split in June 2015.

She is currently engaged to film producer Dimitri Rassam, the son of French actress, Carole Bouquet. In March 2018, several credible media sources reported her engagement to Rassam and it was widely noted that she wore a diamond ring at Monaco’s Rose Ball on 24 March. Casiraghi was visibly pregnant by the summer and the couple chose to postpone a wedding until after the birth of their child. On 23 October 2018, Casiraghi gave birth to a second child, a son named Balthazar, who will not be in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne unless his parents marry.

** Dimitri Rassam (born November 16, 1981) is a French film producer. Rassam is the son of actress Carole Bouquet and film producer Jean-Pierre Rassam. He has one half-brother, Louis, born in 1987 to his mother’s relationship with the photographer Francis Giacobetti. Rassam was four years old when his father died from a drug overdose.

Rassam finished secondary school at École Active Bilingue with a Bac scientifique, then prepped at Sciences Po. He began work on a business degree at HEC Paris, but changed course to earn a degree in history (from the Sorbonne) instead.

At the age of 23, Rassam founded the production company “Chapter 2”. In 2014, “Chapter 2” merged with Alexis Vonarb’s Onyx Films and Aton Soumache’s Method Animation to form “ON Entertainment”. Method Animation is the parent company, with Soumache as CEO.

Since 2008, Rassam has been a film producer, as producer for Trouble at Timpetill (his first credit); Daddy or Mommy (2015), and The Little Prince (2015). He is currently producing “Playmobil The Movie”, due out in 2019. He was also a producer of Le Prénom (2012) and Escobar: Paradise Lost. He has worked with various directors of animation films, including Mark Osborne, director of Kung Fu Panda and The Little Prince.

He married Masha Novoselova in 2010. His daughter, Darya, was born in 2011. At the end of 2016, he separated from Novoselova and to be dating Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Caroline, Princess of Hanover and niece of Albert II, Prince of Monaco. In March 2018 Rassam and Casiraghi were reported to be engaged, and would be married in the summer. Their son, Balthazar, was born on 23 October 2018.
